"Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to wrath," for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine; I will repay," says the Lord. (Romans 12:19)
How beautiful is the word of the Lord that gives comfort, strength, and peace to the soul, but the basic condition for any promise is obedience.
The Lord warned us in the above verse not to avenge ourselves! Because when we avenge, we will bring a curse and lose the blessings of the Lord upon our lives and we will enter the prison of eternal, never-ending vengeance that leads to our destruction.
When we avenge ourselves, the Lord will not help us, for the word of the Lord is clear, "The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace"(Exodus 14:14).
How great is the Lord who will take on any cause we surrender completely to Him when we are quiet and silent, for the Lord’s promise is to defend us.
"No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises up against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from me,declares the Lord" (Isaiah 54:17).
How great is the Lord who gives us appreciation, prestige and status and we see ourselves in the eyes of God, but the condition is when we obey the word of the Lord and bless and pray for every person who has wronged us.
"Jesus said: But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you," (Matthew 5:44).
How great is the word of the Lord when we believe that the Lord is always with us and His Spirit dwells in us.
We do not allow the spirit of revenge to creep into our hearts.
The word of the Lord says: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I have strengthened you and helped you and upheld you with the right hand of my righteousness. Surely all who are angry with you will be ashamed and confounded. Your adversaries will come to nothing and perish. You will seek out those who contend with you, but you will not find them. Those who fight against you will come to nothing." And as nothing. For I am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand, who says to you, "Do not be afraid; I will help you."(Isaiah 41:10-13)
Prayer
Our Heavenly Father, how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, and have done for those who trust in you, toward the children of men!” (Psalm 31:19).
Help us, Holy Spirit, to bless and pray for every person who has wronged us,
Help us to surrender every matter in our lives to the greatest Father, Shepherd, Advocate, and Just Judge.
Thank you for hearing and answering prayer
Amen
